Tsé & Tsé associées / VASE D'AVRIL
size : about Height 15 cm, Ø 3 cm, total length 74 cm
material : glass, zinc
Created in 1991 by Sigolène Prébois and Catherine Lévy.
Inspired by Japanese ikebana, this vase isolates each flower in a tube to show it off to best advantage. Articulated by metal rings, the April Vase has a variable geometry. It adapts to the flowers it shelters and the supports on which it stands. Made of glass tubes and metal parts that articulate, the Vase d'Avril can be dismantled.
The "Classic" vase is composed of 21 tubes, including one with the Tsé & Tsé logo.
※Zinc becomes dull in contact with water and has a slight grey rust similar to frost. In addition, metal parts are not dishwasher- or paint remover-safe. On the other hand, Les Vases d'Avril appreciates a quick bath with dishwashing liquid.
※The Classical April Vase has a spare tube and additional tubes are available separately.
Tsé & Tsé associées
Tsé & Tsé associées is a French design house, which since its launch in 1991 remains one of the few independent design companies. The production of prototypes is done in their workshop at the Bastille in Paris.
It was founded by two Parisian designers, Sigolène Prébois and Catherine Lévy.
Several Tsé & Tsé objects have long been acquired by institutions such as the Georges Pompidou Museum of Modern Art or the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. More recently, the official agency Atout France paid a vibrant tribute to them in an article dedicated to "Design Made in France": "It is not surprising to discover that the country of Concorde, 4-colour Bic pens or Tsé & Tsé vases, has positioned itself at the forefront of design"!
